Deneschuck
Homes - Estimated yearly sales 80 to 100 RTM Homes
In their advertising
they claim to be "Your #1 Custom Home Builder". They are,
with the production capability of this independent RTM Builder often
sold out 3 to 6 months in advance.
The success of
Deneschuk Homes comes from their marketing and production systems
which make them the most formidable competitor in the
RTM Homes business today.
Their success
is not from their website. While the aerial photo of the
Deneschuk Homes production facility is worth a look, download time
for their Home Page is lengthy with "dial-up". Beware!
Deneschuk Homes'
sales strength comes from activity 'on the ground', especially
their willingness to take RTM Show Homes to any event where potential
Customers might be. This aggressive marketing practice opened up
the North Dakota market for them where they are the most successful
even though they are the furthest away, located 180 miles north
of the US border.
In February of
2003 Deneschuk Homes was sold. The purchase excluded their
Real Estate and was primarily for the RTM Industry Specific Technology
that they had developed - for their marketing and production capability.
McDiarmid
RTM Homes - Estimated yearly sales 30 to 50 RTM Homes
McDiarmid Homes
came to Yorkton in 1997 as a home center integrated RTM
Builder to aggressively take market share by locating next door
to Deneschuk Homes. To accomplish this they also 'hired' from Deneschuk
Homes some of their best production and sales people.
'Business culture
reasons' have prevented McDiarmid Homes from taking any
significant market share in the Yorkton area. Within 3 years of
setting up in Yorkton most of the people originally lured away from
Deneschuk Homes were again working there.
Home
Hardware - Estimated yearly sales 10 to 15 RTM Homes
Home Hardware,
also a home center integrated RTM Builder, builds and sells
RTM Homes off their store's front parking lot. These 'stock RTM
Homes' are built then sold based on 'cost of construction' and this
provides them with a profitable product line that increases their
retail sales volumes.
Home Hardware
does not compete in the more lucrative 'Custom Built' RTM Home market
because they lack the marketing and production system
needed to competitively pre-sell custom designed RTM Homes.
Other Yorkton
RTM Builders - Estimated yearly sales 30 to 50 RTM Homes
There are 6 to
10 other independent RTM Builders in the Yorkton area however
none of them appear to have websites. Most of these produce less
that 10 RTM Homes annually except for a couple of Mennonite RTM
Builders with more marketing and production expertise who sell 10
to 20.
Virtually all
of these independent RTM Builders pre-sell RTM Homes and
compete in the 'Custom Built' market. Their RTM Home inventory is
typically limited to one RTM Show Home which is usually sold annually.
