AT&I
Inc. is a Canadian company founded by Rick Downs in 1997
to supply support services to Saskatchewan retail Home
Center integrated RTM Builders. To serve its own needs the company
began development of industry specific software for the operation
and management of RTM Builders.
While
development of proprietary industry specific software was initially
intended for operation of RTM Home Builders this
focus was lost while working with the Canadian government agencies
who were providing financial assistance and marketing expertise.
This focus, for everyone involved, was also eroded by the hype of
the 'dot com' boom.
In
July 2002 all marketing activities for the proprietary software
developed by AT&I Inc. were terminated
by Rick Downs. This decision was made for two reasons, a realization
that the marketing strategy that had been developed would not succeed
in the post 'dot com' environment, and a personal family tragedy
caused by cancer.
In
the fall of 2003 a decision was made that the most appropriate marketing
strategy would be to continue to pursue the original
one, the development and provision of Support Services to RTM Builders.
However because the Canadian RTM Home Market was so well developed,
initial Market Analysis identified that undeveloped US RTM Home
Market was the most suitable and potentially profitable place to
pursue this objective.
AT&I
Inc still retains Intellectual Property Rights
for all RTM industry specific Technology and Software, but will
license all US marketing rights to ATechBuilder Corporation
to use for development and support of new American RTMs
Builders.
AT&I
Inc. is a legal Saskatchewan
corporation under the registered name of Assiniboine
Technology & Innovation Inc. In addition to AT&I Inc. the
company is also sometimes referred to as Assiniboine Technology.
